The design fits a 2" snap or alligator clip directly in the back.

Three different versions are included -

A one colour version where all chevron lines are the same colour
A two colour version where the top and bottom lines are the same colour and the middle line different
A three colour version where all three chevron lines can be different colours Designs are included to make either a single clip, three in one hooping (where each clip cover stitches separately so you can use different colour thread and felt - the "GROUP" option), or four in one hooping where the thread colours are sorted to stitch each colour of all clip covers together (the "SORTED" option - just four colour stops).

The back is neat and the clip is fully enclosed.
